Tauro service made the experience extra special, and Basanno's Chef Selene and Carlos made our dining experience truly unforgettable. At La Laguna, we were attended by the fantastic duo, Jose and David, who effortlessly fulfilled our every request and provided excellent menu recommendations. La Laguna's Mexican cuisine, Gaia's delectable fish dishes, Tauro's succulent meats, and Bassano's exquisite Italian cuisine deserve Michelin stars.
The dining experience at the various restaurants on the property was extraordinary. And the beach itself was beautiful, with no sign of sargassum (seaweed), allowing us to fully enjoy paddleboarding, hobie tours and other water activities. Ghilbert was attentive, always ensuring we had everything we needed, from chairs, fresh towels to refreshing drinks. He made sure we had the most amazing margaritas, including unique flavors with unimaginable fruits (the tamarind with jalapeño margarita was a favorite). The beach experience was equally exceptional, all thanks to Ghilbert. If you visit, be sure to ask for Elmer, and I assure you, you'll be treated like royalty. The boat ride in the beautiful canals of Mayakoba, led by the incredibly knowledgeable Captain Noe, was a highlight, as was our visit to the cenote and the charming pueblito. Elmer helped us secure dinner reservations for each night and provided fantastic recommendations for activities and tours within the hotel. The concierge, Elmer, along with the always-smiling Karla, took care of our every need well in advance of our arrival. The level of service we received was unparalleled.
From the moment we started planning this trip a few months ago, the Fairmont Mayakoba surpassed all expectations. What an absolutely amazing experience! I haven't written a review in quite some time, but the unforgettable time my wife, our best friends, and I had at the Fairmont Mayakoba in Playa del Carmen is more than worthy of my time.
